small burned orange net scarf with gorgeous gold embroidery, beads, and sequins.
This scarf was made from a soft, hand-embroidered vintage tulle sari from India. the ends are bordered with ornate gold embroidery and floral designs are scattered across the scarf. The embroidered ends are decorated with sequins, beads, and little jewels. so pretty.
The scarf is 35 inches by 26 inches.
Hand wash and hang to dry. You can press or steam this on a gentle setting.
the shawl is 45 inches by 29 inches. the heavy embroidery gives a good weight, so the shawl swings and drapes beautifully as you move.
The fabric is in excellent shape.
This embroidery is done with zari thread, which is a metallic, wound thread. Traditionally, the threads were gold, silver, and other precious metals. Zari means "beautiful" in Swahili. That's you in this shawl!
This is a vintage sari and may have signs of wear such as small, light stains or tiny holes. I do my very best to insure that each piece is as close to perfect as possible, but please remember that they came from saris that have been worn and loved by one or more women. If there is something that is unacceptable to you, that I missed, I will gladly take the piece back.
I purchase saris from a single mother in Delhi, who runs her own business selling vintage and antique fabrics. She acquires these saris from women during trips to remote villages throughout India. In this way, she provides a much-needed income to these villages and to herself and her son. It's very cool being a part of this network!
DON'T WORRY! I take returns for ANY reason.
