soft and beautiful teal green silk chiffon wedding shawl with gold floral embroidery.
this amazing wrap was handmade from antique bridal sari. the edges are hand embroidered with an ornate floral design and small embroidered flowers are scattered across the rest of the shawl. this embroidery is done with zari thread, which is a metallic, wound thread. Traditionally, the threads were gold, silver, and other precious metals. Zari means "beautiful" in Swahili. That's you in this shawl! The heavily-embroidered borders give the shawl a great swing and drape as you move.
This shawl is 45 inches wide and 65 inches long.
The fabric is in excellent shape.
Hand wash this scarf in cool water. Hang to dry. Press on gentle heat under a cotton cloth, or steam.
I purchase saris from a single mother in Delhi, who runs her own business selling vintage and antique fabrics. She acquires these saris from women during trips to remote villages throughout India. In this way, she provides a much-needed income to these villages and to herself and her son. It's very cool being a part of this network!
This is a vintage sari and may have signs of wear such as small, light stains or tiny holes. I do my very best to insure that each piece is as close to perfect as possible, but please remember that they came from saris that have been worn and loved by one or more women. If there is something that is unacceptable to you, that I missed, I will gladly take the piece back.
DON'T WORRY! I take returns for ANY reason.
