aqua green tulle shawl with gold embroidery and beading.
this luxurious bridal wrap was handmade from antique beaded sari. light gold metallic embroidery with sequins runs along all edges. small embroidered flowers are scattered across the rest of the piece. the fabric is a lightweight net or tulle.
the shawl is 65 inches long by 45 inches wide.
the heavily embroidered borders give a nice weight, so the shawl swings and drapes beautifully as you move.
The fabric is in excellent shape.
This embroidery is done with zari thread, which is a metallic, wound thread. Traditionally, the threads were gold, silver, and other precious metals. Zari means "beautiful" in Swahili. That's you in this shawl!
Hand wash this scarf in cool water. Hang or lay flat to dry.
I purchase saris from a single mother in Delhi, who runs her own business selling vintage and antique fabrics. She acquires these saris from women during trips to remote villages throughout India. In this way, she provides a much-needed income to these villages and to herself and her son. It's very cool being a part of this network!
This is a vintage sari and may have signs of wear such as small, light stains or tiny holes. I do my very best to insure that each piece is as close to perfect as possible, but please remember that they came from saris that have been worn and loved by one or more women. If there is something that is unacceptable to you, that I missed, I will gladly take the piece back.
DON'T WORRY! I take returns for ANY reason.
